Wire bird barriers

The wire bird barrier is a special kind of barrier where braided stainless steel wires are stretched through the holes at the ends of the carrier rods. Thin wires do not provide sufficient support for flying-in birds to land or “sit”. There are also models with protection to prevent birds from “flying under” the barrier wires. The carrier belt of the barrier is attached either with a special glue to a previously degreased and cleaned surface, or by screwing it.

The advantage of wire barriers is that they are barely visible and thus do not disturb the appearance of protected objects.

1) Wire protect of ridge roofs

The wire protection of the roof ridge serves against pigeons and other types of birds. Thin stainless steel wires are tensioned by springs between the carrier rods of the barrier. The support structure of the barrier is bent according to the shape of the ridge tile, and an appropriate adjustment of its length together with firm tightening with a screw ensures its permanent attachment to the roof ridge. The carrier brackets of the wires are mounted on the ridge of the roof at a distance of approximately 1.50 m from each other. This bird barrier has 3 wires running next to each other + 2 wires of lower protection to prevent birds from getting under the main wires of the barrier.

2) Tubes protection against birds

The one to three row wire bird barrier will effectively protect tubes and pipes against pollution from birds. The wire carrier brackets are mounted at a distance of 1.5 m from each other, and then braided stainless steel wires are stretched into them, the correct tension of wires is ensured by a spring at one end of each wire. The belt of the bracket tightly surrounds protected tube / pipe and is fixed by screw and a nut at its ends. In addition, the barrier with lower protection also includes protection against birds flying under by additional wires stretched in the middle of the height on the outermost carrier rods. There are several sizes of barriers to choose from for pipes with a diameter of 25 to 200 mm.

3) Windowsills protection against birds – Carrier rods on sheet plate

Carrier rods on sheet plate is a wire bird barrier, where the individual carrier rods of the wires are welded onto a common carrier belt. This guarantees good stability of the barrier even against larger birds. The distance between the individual carrier rods on carrier belt is 50 mm (this is the spacing of the individual wires) and several lengths of the carrier belt are available, i.e. different number of carrier rods on the belt in the range of 1 to 12, which offers a large range of width of the protected object. The carrier belt is attached to the object either with special glue on a previously degreased and cleaned surface, or directly by screwing it. Carrier belts with carrier rods are placed at a distance of 1.5 m from each other and are then interconnected by a stainless steel wire. In addition, the barrier with lower protection has holes in the middle of the height of the outer carrier rods for stretching another wire, which prevents the bird from flying under the main wires of the barrier.

4) Atypical brackets for wires

A wide range of atypical wire brackets is available for specific configurations of wire barriers according to the layout of the protected object.
